Events: Kukuwa Dance Workout® Demonstration at Georgetown Safeway

Joy of Motion Dance Center is pairing up with Georgetown Safeway to provide a free Kukuwa Dance Workout® Demonstration on Saturday, August 20th  10:00 – 10:30 a.m. KDW® is a low impact/high energy choreographed dance workout designed to target your cardiovascular system, improve your fitness level and pump fun through your veins. From the first beat, the energy grabs you and immediately has you moving your arms, waist, hips and legs to a blend of African soukous and Caribbean soca rhythms. The class is suitable for all fitness levels. Participants of the free demonstration at Georgetown Safeway are required to reserve a spot by emailing georgetownsafeway@gmail.com by Thursday, August 18th.

JOMDC Faculty Member Fatima Senghore will be leading the demonstration on August 20th. Fatima has been a certified Kukuwa Dance Workout® instructor in the DC metropolitan area for the last six years. Certified in three fitness formats, she is also an avid dancer, trained in ballet, jazz, modern and African dance. Since moving to the area, Fatima has danced with The Gye Nyame African Cultural Dance Company and is a current member of the Soul in Motion Players.
